SKU #: ND-2WI
Description
The Captive-Aire ND-2WI is a Type I Single Island Exhaust Hood designed for high-temperature cooking environments, accommodating cooking surface temperatures of 450°F, 600°F, and 700°F. Ideal for use over cooking equipment without adjacent walls or for display cooking, this hood offers a range of features and benefits. ETL Listed for safety in both the US and Canada, the ND-2WI meets stringent sanitation standards and is built in compliance with NFPA 96. Its insulated, double-wall rigid front features an aerodynamic design that minimizes radiant heat and condensation while ensuring exceptional capture and containment of cooking vapors. The rear capture flange enhances heat and effluent containment. Constructed from durable Type 430 stainless steel, with an option for Type 304, the hood features fully welded and polished corners, finished sides, and a rear flange for improved capture efficiency. Modular utility cabinets and end standoffs can be added, along with optional light and fan control switches that are flush-mounted and pre-wired. The design includes factory pre-wired lighting to illuminate the cooking surface, utilizing UL Listed incandescent fixtures with tempered glass globes, accommodating standard 100-watt bulbs. Pre-punched hanging angles facilitate installation, with additional support provided for hoods longer than 12 feet. Standard features include stainless steel baffle filters and a deep grease trough for easy cleaning, with optional Captrate Combo® and Captrate Solo® filters available. A grease drain system with a removable 1/2 pint cup simplifies maintenance, while standard filter stops prevent gaps between filters. Manufactured on a high-volume assembly line across six facilities, the ND-2WI reduces lead times and shipping costs. Optional features include make-up air supply through front and/or side plenums, a Self Cleaning Hood option with a spray bar for grease removal, and the CORE Fire Protection System for automatic fire suppression. Additionally, a heat recovery coil can be integrated to preheat water using heat from the exhaust stream, enhancing energy efficiency.
